  • We currently have an opportunity for a Network Fleet Control and Management Specialist for the LATAM and Caribbean region, based in Bogotá, Colombia. This person will be responsible for managing the performance of aircraft arrivals and departures across the entire DHL network. They will coordinate, gather, and distribute up-to-date information on flight status and any alternative and/or contingency plans for the fast movement of customers’ materials, ensuring optimal performance. They will lead and coordinate contingencies with the relevant stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Controls the movement of material throughout the network, determining the most efficient and cost-effective means available to meet the company’s requirements and delivery schedules, and making routing changes in response to irregular operations.
  • Ensures the safe and effective operation of the network, communicating with locations, distribution centers, contracted carriers, and other departments as needed.
  • Collects and monitors minute-by-minute data on all DHL material moving within the network, acting as a central source of information for Service Centers and Operations.
  • Assists in deciding whether irregular aircraft routing or the addition of a charter aircraft to a route is necessary.
  • Evaluates shipment specifications and authorizes the movement of oversized or overweight shipments.
  • Coordinates material movement by approving/denying air movement requests for shipments exceeding DHL size parameters.
  • Monitors and assists with aircraft ground movements and personnel.
  • Performs the function of an information exchange center for all dangerous goods, including identification, handling, and emergency procedures as defined in DHL’s General Operations Manual.
  • At higher levels, may provide functional guidance, advice, and/or training to less experienced warehouse professionals at the Hub, Gateway, or terminal.
  • Qualifications
  • Studies in Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Aircraft Dispatch, or related fields.
  • 2–3 years of experience in the aviation sector (crew scheduling, administration, aircraft fleet programming and control).
  • Knowledge of Aeronautical Law (desired).
  • Airline contract management (desired).
  • Management of Ground Service Providers contracts (SGHA) (desired).
  • Advanced English.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office – Office 365.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Availability for 24/7 rotating shifts.
