Job Summary
- Advanced Accounting & Advisory: Performs advanced accounting activities and complex analyses, audits transactions and financial statements, identifies accounting issues, and researches, recommends, and implements accounting policies while serving as the key accounting and reporting contact for affiliates.
- Governance, Quality & Leadership: Acts as an internal expert sharing best practices, leads or supports special projects and strategic implementations, and continuously improves the quality system to achieve accounting and compliance objectives.
The Opportunity
- Accounting Expertise & Audit Leadership: Leads complex accounting analysis and auditing for assigned areas, serving as subject-matter expert for supported affiliates and a trusted internal advisor to colleagues.
- Financial Reporting & Close Activities: Prepares complex financial reports and statements, manages monthly journal entries, performs cost analysis and allocations, and maintains audit trail documentation in compliance with accounting standards.
- Analysis, Commentary & Advisory: Investigates variances and significant items, provides clear explanations and recommendations to management, and supplies or interprets financial data for internal and external stakeholders.
- Compliance, Governance & Team Development: Ensures adherence to company policies, accounting principles, and regulations; supports colleague development through coaching, review of work, and contribution to projects as needed.
Who you are
- Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent business experience; strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS and auditing; accounting certification (CPA, ACCA, or similar) preferred.
- Professional Experience: 4+ years of finance or accounting experience, with prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry considered a plus.
- Systems & Technical Skills: Proficient in spreadsheet and database tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, G-Suite) with experience in Finance Shared Services and accounting systems such as SAP (FI, CO/PA, MM, FA, FCC), Blackline, or similar.
- Analytical & Execution Skills: Strong analytical, accuracy, and presentation skills with high attention to detail; able to prioritize, multitask, meet tight deadlines, and work independently with limited guidance.
- Communication & Collaboration: Effective written and verbal communication skills; works well in teams, follows through on commitments, and manages stakeholders; fluent in English and Spanish, with Portuguese and/or French preferred.
