- The Position
- The North America (NAM) Payroll & Time team delivers comprehensive support encompassing payroll and time management administration. This team provides customer service and advisory support to P&C (People & Culture) and business partners regarding local P&C systems and processes. Their core focus is ensuring end-to-end process completion, guided by customer-centric principles, to ensure Roche People Practices effectively serve the business needs.
- The Opportunity
- The NAM Payroll & Time Senior Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate execution of system data maintenance and administrative tasks to ensure US and CAN Payroll, Tax, Social Insurance, Time and Benefits processing.
- This role also involves contributing to the continuous improvement of People Support Solutions delivery by analyzing interactions and collaborating with other P&C functions, both internal and external to People Support Solutions. Success in this position requires a strong customer focus, excellent communication skills, and a solution-oriented approach.
- Responsibilities
Payroll Processing, System, and Data Management
- Perform system data maintenance and administrative tasks to support P&C business processes, with a focus on US and CAN Payroll, Tax, Social Insurance, Time and Benefits processing.
- Conduct audits and other necessary activities to ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Assist the P&C Chapter with system maintenance activities
Customer Service and Support
- Provide direct customer service for P&C-related activities, including inquiry resolution, request management, and troubleshooting.
- Provide guidance and advisory to first-level support teams.
- Ensure consistent and reliable service delivery for customers.
Process Improvement
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, including those arising from quality control processes.
- Be responsible for escalating issues as needed.
- Take ownership of tasks and be decision-driven wherever possible.
Knowledge and Documentation
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of processes and own the development of this knowledge.
- Contribute to the update of relevant documentation (SWIs, SOP, GWIs).
Professional Conduct and Team Contribution
- Display high integrity and comply with Roche guidelines, including data privacy rules and regulations.
- Be a role model to team members, demonstrating a positive and flexible attitude.
- Coach and train newcomers.
- Participate in, and partially lead, project activities as required.
- Who you are
- You will join a team of Specialists dedicated to serving a diverse customer group across various functions and organizational levels.
- Previous experience in a shared service center, with a preference for P&C (People & Culture/HR) services.
- Operational expertise in Pay and Time processes.
- Solid foundational knowledge as a P&C generalist.
- Proven ability to deliver results within a matrix organizational structure.
- Capacity to work independently, manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, and thrive amid ambiguity and change.
- Adept at navigating complex P&C data structures.

Required qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in US and/or Canadian payroll processing.
- Knowledge of US and/or Canadian payroll-related laws.
- Experience working in a team, service delivery, or customer care environment.
- Proficiency with standard IT applications, preferably the Google Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, in English.
Preferred (optional) qualifications
- Experience working with Workday.
- University degree or current university student.
- Fluency in French
