  • What you will Do
  • You'll be intimately involved in developing asylum cases, handling both substantive and administrative tasks throughout client representation. Working closely with attorneys, you'll assist clients in developing case statements, advise on evidence gathering, write portions of legal briefs, and conduct country conditions research. You'll also serve as a key point of contact with clients, communicating daily via phone and email in both English and Spanish to move cases forward and ensure an excellent client experience. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Experience as a paralegal in an immigration law firm is preferred but not required - we'll teach you everything you need to know about U.S. asylum procedures and prioritize your professional development.
  • Responsibilities
  • Work closely with attorneys in serving clients and providing excellent advocacy
  • Assist clients in developing statements to be used in their case
  • Advise regarding evidence to be gathered
  • Write portions of legal briefs
  • Conduct research into country conditions information
  • Work with attorneys in framing and preparing the case
  • Serve as a point of contact with clients, supporting attorneys in engaging clients throughout the representation
  • Proactively manage cases to ensure deadlines are met
  • Compile and submit filings to immigration agencies
  • Perform administrative tasks

  • Speaks Spanish fluently
  • Top-notch writing skills in English

  • We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, above market norms. You'll enjoy excellent work-life balance - while the work can be intense, you won't be asked to work more than 40 hours per week. You'll receive all benefits and contributions that employers in your country are required to provide by law to full-time employees, and the firm may pay for certain additional, non-obligatory benefits depending on your location.

You'll receive three weeks of vacation annually, plus all U.S. federal holidays (11 days) off, regardless of your location. You will not be off on non-U.S. holidays but will be compensated in line with your country's laws for work done on local holidays.
