Drawing on our expertise in consulting, data analytics, technology, payments and economics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients. VCA's core client segments include issuers, acquirers, merchants, fintechs, payment enablers and governments. The Data Solutions team at VCA consists of data scientists, analysts, and engineers who provide analytics solutions. Their goal is to leverage VisaNet, one of the largest datasets globally, to help clients enhance their performance and increase profitability.
- Job Description
- The Data Science team at VCA is seeking an experienced Manager of Data Science Operations to lead the operationalization, scaling, and delivery of data‑science solutions for Visa’s clients—including issuers, acquirers, processors, and merchants. This role sits at the intersection of advanced analytics, operational excellence, and client delivery, ensuring that data‑science activities generate measurable business impact.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain operational frameworks to support the data‑science team, meet business goals, and generate impact for Visa clients.
- Act as a technical liaison with Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Solutions, and Data Governance to streamline delivery processes and remove operational bottlenecks.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and model risk‑management requirements across all operational processes.
- Support the data‑science team across the LAC region, ensuring operational integrity, performance, and business applicability.
- Design and develop dashboards using Tableau or Power BI.
- Leverage Visa’s data and analytics capabilities to identify relevant country‑level market trends through deep analysis of payment‑industry information.
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders to support the strategic definition of analyses and initiatives.
- Continuously develop and present innovative ideas based on a data‑driven approach to improve current business practices within Visa.
- Communicate complex concepts and analytical results clearly and effectively.
- Support the transfer of technical knowledge to facilitate the implementation of proposed business solutions.
- Document all projects, including writing clear and efficient code, and prepare additional documentation as needed.
- Identify and share best practices on key topics.
- Leverage agentic and generative AI tools to enhance daily operations, automate routine tasks, improve analytical workflows, and increase team efficiency.
- This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
- Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree,
- or 2 or more years of relevant work experience with an advanced degree (e.g., Master’s, MBA).
- Fully Bilingual: English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 4 or more years of relevant work experience with an advanced degree (e.g., Master’s, MBA).
- Ability to operationalize governance standards and manage access workflows at scale.
- Strong SQL skills. Experience with Python or Spark for manipulating big data is a plus.
- Intermediate Tableau development skills and knowledge of data visualization best practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) preferred.
- Strong coordination and execution skills across data science, engineering, and data governance teams.
- Demonstrated analytical acumen, leveraging data driven insights to inform strategic decision making and drive business outcomes.
- Meticulous attention to detail, with a track record of translating complex data into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clearly and persuasively to senior executives and cross functional stakeholders.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, with a history of building effective partnerships with global teams and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
- Proven ability to lead projects, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high quality results in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and adapt to evolving business needs and unstructured challenges.
- Strong focus on process improvement, with experience driving operational excellence and implementing best practices.
