Project Overview: We are seeking an experienced immigration consultant, paralegal, or attorney to assist with the Form I‑129F (Petition for Alien Fiancé(e)) process. This is for my daughter, a U.S. citizen, who plans to marry a young man from Colombia. We want to ensure the petition is completed accurately, with all required supporting documentation, and submitted properly to USCIS. Because the fiancé is based in Colombia, familiarity with Colombian civil documentation (passport, cédula, police certificates, name change procedures) would be especially valuable. We are observant Jews, so we also want to ensure that our religious marriage plans align with U.S. civil requirements. Responsibilities: • Guide us through completing Form I‑129F and assembling supporting evidence. • Provide a clear checklist of required documents (U.S. and Colombian). • Advise on timing: filing now, upcoming in‑person meeting in April, and embassy interview in Bogotá. • Explain how a Colombian legal name change (to adopt a Hebrew name) would affect the visa process. • Answer questions about timelines, fees, and next steps after USCIS approval. Qualifications: • Demonstrated experience with U.S. immigration petitions, especially K‑1 fiancé visas. • Knowledge of USCIS procedures and documentation standards. • Familiarity with Colombian civil registry processes (cédula, passport, driver’s license, police certificates). • Strong attention to detail and ability to explain requirements clearly. • Prior Upwork or client references preferred. Deliverables: • Reviewed and completed Form I‑129F ready for submission. • Guidance on assembling supporting evidence (relationship proof, intent to marry, civil documents). • Clear instructions for handling Colombian name change and ensuring consistency across documents. • Step‑by‑step roadmap through USCIS, NVC, and U.S. Embassy Bogotá stages. Additional Notes: • We are not seeking legal representation in court, only practical guidance and document preparation assistance. • Religious marriage considerations (Jewish ceremony + civil license) must be respected. • Bilingual support (English/Spanish) is a plus.
